Nithel’s eyes narrowed on the wet man, just a bit. He bowed? Egad, what did he do that for? Nithel was no royalty...

What country bowed? The Twin States? Chesed? His mind couldn’t remember the other places that existed. He was so new to the world...

He almost raised his hand in greeting to the fellow, but didn’t, jumping inside as more and more people appeared. Zounds, why? Where were they all coming from? Were these the ‘they’ Jaylin spoke of?

Nithel began to scoot toward a wall, watching. His eyes went back to the shadow where the man had stood. Gone.

He ran he eyes along the walls, and had barely passed over the man when the male sneezed. There. Where was he going? Did he know a way out?

Nithel wanted to follow him. He liked the darkness, but this darkness was cold. He wanted the suns on his skin again.

Glancing several ways, he began to work his way around the wall toward the muddy stranger.
