Lol! Feel free to call me Kinnan or Joelle, whichever floats your boat. 😉
Sure!
Tagging Method:
Just like in every RP, someone writes a post linking to the one before it. But, at the end of their post, they tag the person who they think should write next. Normally this is because that person’s character was asked a question or needs to respond somehow. This is my personal favorite, mostly because it’s the most organized.
Response Method:
The response method is pretty much like the tagging method, but less strict. Instead of tagging a person after you’re done writing, you just end and wait for someone to respond. Normally you’ll end your post with a question directed at a specific character or something along those lines, but with this method it’s a lot easier to just end how you want to and wait for someone to respond. This is the lovely middle ground between the tagging and spontaneous methods.
Spontaneous Method:
Write a post. Wait for someone else to write a post. Basically this is the least-organized free-for-all method that makes RPs simple to use. There’s not a whole lot of commitment because you don’t have to keep an eye out for being tagged or having to have your character respond to something; it’s just a write when you want to gig. There’s also not a chronological line we use – oftentimes there’s a group a few days ahead of another, and if you plan on making it all concise you’ll have some gaps to fill or major scenes to cut (which is always sad). So I don’t suggest this one; but, then again, that might just be me personally!
Keep in mind that I just added names to the different styles I’ve seen over the years, so this isn’t textbookly accurate… 😉
And that character list is SUPER helpful, thanks for it! I’m willing to cut Vika or Aleck (probably Vika 😞) if we need to.
