“Well. . .  don’t want to impose on you, Gerik.” Rob hesitated, thinking It is a long way back to the Vance House. And with the government boys crawling everywhere, I might end up betraying the sparrows by getting caught.

He studied Gerik’s face a moment. He almost got bagged once already.

“Probably better that we stay together. Two pairs of eyes and ears to keep a sharp look out.”

He nodded Gerik forward. “Lead on.”

Megyn stepped into the alley but froze mid-step as she remembered The boy! (Kedori)

Turning a moment, she called softly to him, “I’ll be right back.”

She hurried down the alley towards the men. As she approached, she heard one of them mutter “Take him to the tower.”

“Excuse me, Sirs, for my interruption.” She stepped to the side of the one with the gun. “May I have permission to attend this young man’s wound before you take him into custody?”
