I pretty much agree with what people have said — the novelty might wear off, and it isn’t anything new.

Echoing Sarah, my personal reason for not being on is that my online activities here at SE generally correlate with how much time I’m actually spending writing… which, if taken up by school and summer homework, isn’t a lot :/ The guild wars tend to keep me on track though, for which I am really grateful. Keep doing those!

Also, I think that if you wanted to go ahead and do this, I think the questions would need to be selected by someone who frequents the guilds, so that they can cover topics that might not always show up? But again, there’s not much that’s keeping me from just posting my own questions.

I particularly agree with @corissa that a small range of activities for fun/brainstorming/encouragement would work really well. A while back, @kate started a thread (I forget what it was called? New Wessex Worldbuilding and History or something) that invited all of us to write our own characters sitting around a table in some mysterious wooden hall… now that was fun, especially once we started interacting with each other. I think it showcases a need, that among a writer’s community we don’t just need the heavy stuff, but also more light interactions to bounce ideas off of each other and get our brain juices flowing.
