  • @msqueen8 thanks, that’s great advice! I’ve prayed for it generally, but never before anticipated conversations. That’s a really good idea.

@piperbee first of all, welcome to New Wessex! I don’t believe we’ve officially met. 😉 And yes, that’s definitely another big one. It can be hard to realize God can use you just as you are, before you’ve ‘earned’ His favor. That was actually The Big Thing I had to struggle through in my walk with Him before I started growing as a Christian.

@Daeus-lamb I… should get more beta-readers. 😛 I’m constantly vacillating between ‘THIS STORY IS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVERRRRRRRRRRR’ and ‘okay that’s it we’re done’. A second, third, and eighth opinion could really help smooth out that emotional rollercoaster and help put my metaphorical feet more solidly on the ground.

@germaine-han yah, I feel ya. I’m lowkey a very competitive person, and my first impulse when criticized is to get my back up and tear my critic’s opposition down by force instead of persuasion. I know, in theory, that it’s only harmful in the long run (and makes my chances of ever convincing them drop to like zero) but it’s a lot harder in practice. 😛 Definitely worth practicing a gracious response.
