    @steward-of-the-pen Prologues are often great. *nodnod* I know exactly what you mean though. Some just seem so out of place and are essentially a cheap way to try and create suspense.

    However, I think that if you have something that works as a prologue and is actually decent, use it. I loved the prologues to Name of the Wind and Way of Kings. Patrick Rothfuss and Brandon Sanderson both managed to use those prologues really well to make me want to read the rest of the monster sized books.

    So, I would say, yes. Do the prologue.
