    Oh well… I guess I’ll start working on a re-write.

So! @anne-of-lothlorien… I know you’re good at Foosball, because I heard from a friend that has played from you. A mutual friend. So it was nothing you said here… in fact nothing you said at all.

Secondly… you are right. Guys don’t multitask. And what you do is amazing! I have never been able to do anything near that. But even so it doesn’t do the male mind justice to compare it to a camera. For instance, even though I can’t splice my mind in three different directions… I can still do multiple things at once. A good example of this is when I’m doing martial arts. We have an exercise called push-pull, where we literally push and pull each other around the mat, trying to move them, or take them down. I can do this and carry on a conversation with someone else, at the same time. Because I’m familiar with this exercise and how the people are moving, I can split my attention and still work. My brain is able to intake all the information and process it, but some is subconscious, and it may be even that my mind is switching back and forth, but some of it is simultaneous processing.

An even better example of this is when I’m typing. During the time in which I write this or even some fiction works, my mind can still listen to what’s going on around me. Now… what’s happening is that I know what I’m gonna say, and my hands are typing, so I can divert my attention to what’s going around. I can let my brain intake information, because it created space to do so. My mind is able to organize, and solve problems while my hands are doing something else. Remember how I was explaining the way my mind works in manager mode? It’s the same thing.

    So no… It’s not like a camera.

Now! Back to the emotions thing: YES! I have cried at something I imagined happening. Things that were sad in my mind that could have happened did cause tears to come to me… but I can’t say that it’s all bad. And I think I understand where you’re coming from when you say it is bad, and for you it might be. But looking back I can see why it did happen to me.

There was a time in my life where life itself was devoid of emotional contact with friends. Not totally, but mostly. Now… when I say emotional contact, I mean a place where it was safe to express myself. And the reason for that was literally the environment around our family. We lived in a cult where it life was trying to survive emotionally. Where keeping sphere sovereignty was of utmost importance. Thankfully we are far away from there… but it still greatly effected us.

We were in effect fighting a war. And when fighting a war there is always sacrifice, whether you like it or not. Anyway… The emotional contact was minimal… but I still needed a way to express my tension, and the stress that was going on. So my body figured out a way to help me cry. And it felt good to cry. It was healthy to cry. Because when life is that crazy crying needs to happen… especially when there is pressure down on emotions.

So the problem was not really that I was worrying that something bad would happen. The problem was the inability to express myself. And then I did anyway. It was in a way that wasn’t “realistic”… but it happened, and it helped. My mind was able to relax enough to cry. And I was in a place of enough safety to cry.

Btw… Thank you for bringing that up. Because I had never thought of it like I just explained… but talking that out was helpful. So I’ll pray for you right now… whether it’s bad or not, and I’m not saying that it is good… there just might be more ( 🙂 ). I’d encourage you (if you haven’t already of course… it’s likely you have) to maybe look at the outlying circumstances… because there might be something to be addressed. But of course at this point I take your word for it 🙂

Okay… Yeah. That’s really sickening. And I’m glad that you brought up the idea of not being able to do anything about it, because I actually thought about bringing that up… but decided not to. Now I’ll go ahead and speak what I was thinking. It drives us crazy to watch something happen, and not be able to help. Reading Romeo And Juliet is painful, because I’m watching where each little slip happens… then how much more is that compounded when the hurt it pointed at you… or me? Because all we can then do is turn to God… which really might be considered a blessing. Because we can turn to God, and we have to admit that it’s in his hands.

So yeah… totally get a bodyguard. Have you ever taken martial arts? Because I might recommend that too. I think that’s a good idea in general. And then of course… we can always pray, whether action is needed or not. That is something He’s given to us… and something we can use. We can pray for safety… we can pray for the person’s redemption… and I think we can pray that God would subdue them whether through redemption or not. But yeah… it still hurts, and I’m so sorry you have to deal with it.

@ashira… Honestly I don’t really cry over stressful or highly emotional dreams. Sometimes they effect me, even into the waking hours, but not in a tear bringing way… though maybe I have. I could see that happening, but can’t remember it happening… wait… I actually might… yeah… I can still remember that dream. It was painful… and I very well might have cried.

@anne-of-lothlorien… it’s very sad that our culture accepts that as normal… but the reason it’s accepted as so, is because it is. The Christian family structure is being constantly de-valued, and it’s heart breaking. And with it much of the structure upon which our country was built is failing.

So yeah… I hope you marry a strong Christian man that values the family as God created it. That will be a huge blessing. 🙂

    Okay… I think that’s it…OH! WAIT!

Anne… I totally understand the internet thing… and please bring on the wave of information compiled into something we read. I really enjoy it.

    I hope this was helpful…
