@karthmin I hadn’t thought of it in that way, but that kind of back-but-not-the-same quality does add a lot to a story. I love fairy tale endings, but it adds depth when they are unable to quite go back to how it was, and ultimately makes it more satisfying and memorable.

I’ve just read the first paragraph or so and I am excited to keep going! This time frame has been a bad one for me. I’m about to leave on a trip and my internet will be spotty at best. I’ve printed it off and hope to edit during the car ride and transfer my notes to the google document when I get home! I look forward to it!

2-3 hours outlining/worldbuilding

@princess-foo I also love Beauty and the Beast!! I wrote a novella a few years ago combining several fairy tales, but it ended up being 60% Beauty and the Beast XD. I’m late (as always…) but I think this is a lovely idea and I added myself to the queue. Two weeks sounds perfect to me.

@karthmin That definitely sounds much less intimidating when you put it that way. I think I would use this subform a lot :). And I kind of like what @morreafirebird said about analyzing short stories, if we wanted to do something organized as a group.

Prayer and reading God’s Word are key, for me. Asking Him to show you. Getting your direction and inspiration from Him. And then WRITE! Don’t sit around like you somehow expect Him to write it for you. That’s your job. I work with people–helping customers and such–so yes, my job gives me PLENTY of writing help. I basically get to people watch for a living, and interact with all kinds of different people. Yes so…as I said in the AUGUST thread, (oops :)) my writing goals for this week are:

Edit 4-5 hours on fantasy novel

Do some worldbuilding/plotting for my NaNoWriMo project

Finish 1-2 short stories

Find another book to read

I already have done some worldbuilding and one hour of editing so I’m happy with that!
