“Best friend, name’s Sonja. But everyone calls me Search.”

Direct and polite. Strange considering Burn. But people were strange at times, Caleb shrugged.

“Can we focus on the holes in reality and getting back to where we belong?”

Nathair turned and looked at Caleb.

“Ah, good to see you! I knew you would make it eventually.”

Go jump off the island. Caleb didn’t say it but he sure wanted to. And he had to get him to pay the bartender. Maybe he should just drag Nathair back and let the beastman knock some sense into him. No, that wouldn’t be right. Warn him once then proceed with that plan.

“Well Search, if my ears don’t deceive me, the other poor punks caught in this mess are here. That one, Is Ax-Punk. That one is Metal-Punk, and the idiot implying emotional-incest is Snake-Punk. He’s like Oscar, you’ll hate him.”

Search just about facepalms with that sentence. So this is just how he is huh.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you. Don’t mind my friend here, he has amnesia and can’t remember names.”

Ah. Caleb decided to cut Burn a little slack. It did annoy him that he was “Ax Punk” but if he couldn’t remember his name, a nickname wasn’t so bad just as long a Caleb remembered it.

“We should probably find a place to stay…somewhere farther away from the bar, mm?”

    “Burn what did you do?”

“I’m innocent. I am as innocent as … as a puppy.”

    “Why are you like this?”

Caleb pointed at Nathair. All him.

“So, tell me exactly what is going on. Burn, you’ll get your turn in a moment. I want to know …”

“I did not start the bar fight! No seriously! This was not my fault this time! Snake-Punk did it! I told you he’s like Oscar!”

“In a minute Burn. Caleb was it? Can you tell me what’s happened since you met my friend?”

Caleb paused for a minute. How would she believe this story? He barely believed it himself. Forget it, just tell the truth and let Burn fill in.

“I’m not quite sure you’ll believe it but I was getting water from a stream near the site I was working on. I encountered and enfield and next thing I know, I’m in a cave with all these guys. After a little bit of work, we all got back to the surface and, well, got here. Quite frankly, I don’t know if I’m dreaming or not but its just all too weird.”
