Life is going pretty well though. Trying to keep my new year’s schedule, and mange my time properly. You back in school or still at home thanks to your government?

Well, I’m homeschooled so nothing has changed there XD

But it did slacken up a little again. HEMA resumed, which is awesome. Also I have my first tournament tonight, which is both terrifying and very exciting. It’s a really minor tournament, just the club and just for learning, but it still makes me a bit nervous XD I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’m going to get my rear kicked multiple times, it’ll be great XD

The weather is somewhat better, but I’m ready for spring and summer. Come to think of it, I was ready for spring after a week of winter.

Oh, absolutely same. I cannot stand winter, I can’t remember the last time I saw the sun or the last time I wasn’t cold. If I could I would simply hibernate throughout winter.

I’ve had to cut back my amount of words per day to 2k-3k, but my pace is still going pretty well. You?

That’s still unbelievably fast, especially to write as consistently as you do!

Well I hit a rough spot last week and didn’t hit my word count once. I wrote something everyday so that’s something! I think I’m past it now (?) My pace isn’t as high as I’d like, but I’m still going and I’ll get there.

One factor may be is that I’m now in the part right before the midpoint, which is a section I loathe writing. The initial excitement of the project has worn off and I haven’t yet hit the midpoint, after which things start getting more exciting.

I’m also having trouble balancing external plot and internal conflict. I have a lot of internal conflict which is great but I’m struggling to get enough external plot to duct-tape it together.

However, I’m pretty close to the outline still and I’m happy with how it’s going!

The only unplanned development was that two of my characters ended up falling in love. Whoops. It happened completely by accident, I was just writing them and then it struck me that they shouldn’t be describing each other like that.

However, they have great chemistry and are generally compatible and I did consider it, so it’s fairly easy to shift.

I’m very close to 50k, which is much further than I thought I’d be by now.

So, writing has been eventful XD

I like the character a good deal better now, but he and one of the main characters are very similar in personality, so I’m having trouble distinguishing his character voice. I’ll see what I can do with revision, but betas will have to tell me their thoughts before I do much else with him.

Oh, that happens a lot to me too! Yeah, sometimes you just have to leave a problem for future-you XD
