Hey y’all, I think this castle helped me out of a writing slump with Quin–I couldn’t write him, but it’s easier with you all to help out, so thank you!! Maybe I can do something similar with Qatar soon…though he’s harder to write in the castle because he’s such a jerk, lol.

Lol right??? I think that’s why Niarok suddenly just decided to be the sweetest person on earth because he’s like… they need to know who I am…

And then I realized how traumatized his backstory was and now I love him soooo much! XD

LOL, writing this made me realize just how messed up Aydin is… I’ve never really written his POV, and in the earlier books he usually looks pretty chill most of the time but now I know his internal monologue was just incoherent but panicked screaming XD

I was rereading the start of book two, which I wrote… about a year ago, and Liorah and Aydin have changed so much so they just sound… wrong. Not completely out of character, but just a little… off XD

Lol Niarok was sitting there like great now I have to stand up and then Ayden just jumped up and he was like oh cool. The awesome person did it for me!

It was great. XD

It kind of broke my heart because Aydin just caught on “I know what that feels like. I’m not letting that happen to anyone else.” Which is a big part of his internal motivation and reasoning, so that was really interesting.

Except Liorah. It never actually happened to her. It was more like “me and the people I like against the castle and those three particular characters who insulted me once and are now my sworn enemies” *cough* Lorcan *cough*

Are you all still up for the moral compass challenge, or shall we just skip it? We’ve been meandering around it for quite a bit, but I can’t drop in Liorah until it’s over or we decide it won’t work.
