@kate – If it makes you feel any better, I started my first novel in 2011, finished the rough draft in 2013, and . . . I’m still editing it. This is my only finished novel. In my defense, I’m still learning to write and want to do it right, so I keep rewriting. But still. A dozen manuscripts at 19? I don’t call that slow. But maybe that’s because I’m just slower. 😉 My pace is my own, and in the end, the tortoise beat the hare.

I think writing skill is like fine wine. The more it ages, the better it gets.
