Welll… I don’t know if there is such a word, but here are some ways to describe it: reluctant, unwilling, disinclined, forced, half-hearted, unenthusiastic, hesitant. Taking the time to write a deep backstory for a villain helps so much in developing who the villain is instead of just throwing him/her in as a one-dimensional bad guy. The villain in my current WIP has such a terrible past that I almost cried while I was writing it and the villain is now my favorite character. 😀

In a few days I’ll be away at a Christian convention helping out on the kids team and because I’m in Australia it’s summer for me. And the days that I’m away for are nearly 40C (100F) and that’s going to be really tough to keep the kids cool and happy and sleeping won’t be much fun either.

So I went through and read both version a couple of times. The second version definitely depicts Phillepe as a snobby prince well, but there are a couple of details in the first version I liked.
