Thank you, Lily. He had leukemia and was sent home on hospice. He wasn’t expected to pass so soon, though. The funeral is on Monday at 10 am CST. It is a 4 1/2 hour drive so we have to leave tomorrow.
My aunt is doing okay with God’s grace helping her. They were married almost 60 years. (Would have been 60 in June.)

So, if two guards have Jake between them, and at the beginning of the scene, Jake is unconscious, his body would be hanging slack between them, lower than their waistline. Any striking to be done would be below the guard’s waistline with Jake’s body angled down to a slant to the floor. A knee to the stomach would require one of the guards to rel…[Read more]

Hi Lily,
My dad typically preaches through the biblical books, so on Sundays, he is presently in 1 Peter, and on Wednesday nights he is going through the Book of Jeremiah.

Think about the physical proximity of the two guards that would be on either side of him. Punching their captive in the mouth would make more sense if he was upright and facing them, or pinned to the wall. At best, a guard might give him a grazing blow down the side of his jaw, but that would b…[Read more]

My favorite has probably been the Colorado Rockies, though each of the mountainous places has its own unique charm. Recently we went to Breckenridge, CO and it was such a peaceful place. As far as the townships around the mountains, I highly recommend Gatlinburg, TN, but it is kind of difficult to get to, if you have to fly into Knoxville, TN.…[Read more]

I think it was either Romeo and Juliet or Macbeth. Not sure which was first, but it was probably R&J since it was in high school. Macbeth was very bloody, though not as bloody as Titus Andronicus. Julius Caesar was probably the third one I read.

I studied Shakespeare in college and in graduate school. I’ve read many of the bard’s plays.
One of the cruelest villains in all Shakspearean literature is Iago in Othello.
Hamlet is a favorite. Oddly of the movie adaptations of Hamlet, I particularly liked the Mel Gibson version (1990).

We did go to Yosemite back in 2016. I don’t think we’ve been to Zion Natnl yet. We went to the Banf Natnl Park in the Canadian Rockies back in 2019, and also went to New Zealand in early 2019.
