*waves* Sorry I’m not around much, but I appreciate getting tagged once in a while to remind me to rejoin the conversation. n_n; And these are some interesting world-building questions! Too bad I can’t answer them quickly except by the cop-out answer, “It depends.” xD But so far, I’ve used both dogs and cats as pets for my characters, and another character trained his own falcon, and horses for riding are a thing. My new cast of characters, for the sequel I’m trying to work on, raise sheep and chickens, and dragons play a prominent role, though they would angrily object to being called pets. I’ll probably continue adding to the repertoire of anima-companionship as I continue to write. I haven’t given too much thought to vacation spots, although I think my first book’s royal family has a getaway castle somewhere in the countryside, and the seaside country bordering them probably has a lot of tourist appeal.

As for downright epic and amazing, I’m proud of three elements to my story world. One is the tweak I made to werewolves to give them a unique spin in my world. Rather than being able to shift between wolf and human forms at will, they need to have their wolf pelts on hand to be able to step into them and become wolves. Another element is a creature I call a dabnor – originally a normal person, they at some point let themselves be turned into something other. They still look like normal people (usually), but they gain some kind of magical ability, stop aging, and lose touch with their humanity (though the rate and slant at which they degenerate depends a lot on their motivations for becoming dabnors). My first book is littered with these creatures left and right, and my MC receives a prophecy involving her and one particular dabnor, and the book is a lot of her trying to find that one. The third part of my story world that I’m having a lot of fun with is a group of legendary warriors, long since dead and gone by the time my stories pick up, but with huge impacts on my MCs. I’m still trying to flesh out the warriors and draw out parallels between them and my MCs, while also maintaining a balance that keeps this element from becoming a rabbit hole.

Aaaaaaanyway, what about you, @quinn-ofallon ? How do you answer your questions with your own story world? =) Also tagging @corkybookworm .

Side note: If I don’t reply much in the next week, it’s because I’m evacuating due to the coming hurricane.
