Make it at least 3 authors, because I have a “seven obsession” as well. Every one of my Chapters has at least seven scenes or a multiple of seven scenes (14 max).Ha! So we’re not that odd, then! xD
I think you’re probably right in your pronunciation of both! It’s pretty straightforward. Lee-or-a and Ae-din/ Aye-din. Acyn is pronounced Aye-sin. (Yeah, maybe a bit close to Aydin XD)Gotcha! Yep, I was right 🙂 Just wanted to make sure!
The more you love a character, the more you want to torment them, isn’t it XDIt’s… it’s almost as natural as breathing, when you get to a certain level. I’m just fondly recalling how when I was young, I’d want all my characters to be perfect and amazing and have everything their way all the time… Then you grow up and you realize, nope, that’s not how it really works. :)))
Okay, in all honesty, I didn’t put too much time into this. I haven’t completely figured out how I want to tackle faith in fantasy, so I stuck with keeping most of them fairly ambiguous. Except the Lehabim XD It wasn’t the original plan, but as I was writing it, it took a decidedly Jewish/Messianic tilt. Both Gavril and Liorah wear tzitzit, Gavril’s royal robe and crown have text on the inside, as per Exodus 13:16, and the Shema is quoted at least twice, besides some other more subtle stuff XDK now that is really cool! And haha, it’s understandable to hesitate about writing in faith… I do that all the time too, honestly. But I like what you’ve come up with for that.
How about you? What did you use for your countries?I did a little thing where the current ruler of Amadern (Pax’s country) has imposed a fantasy version (I haven’t really figured it out yet) of Christianity as the only legal religion, as inspired by some notorious figures in history, since it has a history of being suppressed by the pagan Fidelians and other religious factions. There are different religious backgrounds for each nation, but their current state varies.
For example… Kaynslie, the green kingdom, has many deities and spirits drawn directly from nature, pretty much inspired by ancient Korean myths. Trimoori has gods somewhat inspired by the Hindu pantheon, Dommes something similar to Buddhist Taoism, and so on. There are also practitioners of dark magic, those who can’t be satisfied with what they already know about magic theory and the limits it has in their world. I don’t like going into too much depth (for obvious reasons), but they definitely have a presence in each culture and will make some impact on the storyline as well.
So yay for that xD
And on that note, do you have any superstitions/myths/legends that you wrote for your story? I always find those extremely fun 😀Other than the Raynorans’ great dread of their long list of unlucky numbers, and the Kaynsliens’ great reverence for tigers because tigers are “guardians from the mountains” or whatever, I have some historical legends to dive into. Back when Pax’s clan was still great, it was said that some ancestor of his befriended a member of an Amaderni clan despite their families’ rivalry and during one of the Fidelians’ infamous “crime” purges, he helped her escape and they forged a famous bond or whatever and later on, centuries later, their descendants will rekindle that friendship 🙂 And they do! But that’s… not much of an epic legend, I guess. Lol.
What about you? I’m sure you have lots of cool stuff like that in your story!
