@noahlitle Okay, I’m glad I understood the concept. I see what you mean, that it would be comparing two events, in the past and the present. My concern about being complicated mostly has to do with how we choose to format this, because I don’t want to confuse the reader with alternating clips in the present and then snippets of flashback. The idea itself though, sounds good.

@daeus-lamb Come to think of it, what does a happy ending entail? Are we going to show the climax of the story, or just the resolution afterwards? (Is there that much of a difference? Sometimes a hero defeats the villain, and then goes to make up with a friend for the closing scene.)

@bama-rose @eden-anderson @noahlitle I think I have the gist of Noah’s idea, but let’s get more specific. Is this a hero/villain story? Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Contemporary? I would probably be most comfortable in a realistic fiction genre or fantasy. From then on, we can flesh out the details of the conflict.
