She tried to put her thumb inside her fist, because she always did, but Alessio corrected, “You need your thumb outside of your fist, so you don’t break your hand throwing a punch, your feet need to be spaced enough for balance but not far enough it hampers your movement, like that –“ Leana did what she was told, or thought he told. He corrected gently, though swiftly. “Now, show me how you throw a punch.”

Her eyes widened. Punch? Okay… She almost gave a wimpy swat. But really? He’s trying to save my life? She thought of several guys in different camps, of her father having to go to war, of her brother’s death, of the Adenites, Dom never meeting Hemen… Leana swung as hard as she could for his stomach. *half expects to get flipped onto her back, like she’d seen tussling guys do, in camp*
