Alessio backed out of the embrace, but his hand still lingered on Leana’s shoulder. “We’ll need to decide which mirror to enter and come up with a plan to make it through alive.”

Leana nodded slowly, and took a step back. You said… the point of all the mirrors is to make us feel guilty? 

Alessio glanced uneasily at the chocolate guy, I should really start remembering names.

Alessio looked back at her, eyes narrowing the smallest bit. Leana’s brows popped up, and she looked down at herself a second.

“Can you use a weapon?”

Oh. 

The silence stretched too long. Zounds. “I… I’ve only been a messenger. Riding a horse from outpost to outpost. I had a dagger, but… All of us knew it wouldn’t do any good, if caught. It isn’t really a stable job.” She looked at Alessio, a bit timid. Both because of that last sentence. And because she started to understand how much of a dead weight she might become. “No. I’ve never learned how to use a weapon.”
