The loud smash behind her, made Leana’s eyes widen. She put her back against the wall, not a door, but still looked at the helmeted man. His voice had sounded kind, teasing. But she wished she could see his face, his eyes.

More voices off to the side.

Her hands hovered over the small pouch.

“Hey, is there something you want to say, sir?”

She nearly jumped to the ceiling again, at the voice. But somehow didn’t. She looked at him, then the masked man, back and forth. She chose to be silent, not sure about either of them, but sensing a warmth in the second man’s voice, even if strong. Warning. A bit of fear too, underneath it all. Ack. I hope you both are nice and don’t start…
