@the-inkspiller I do have a question, actually. I’ve been trying to find a marshal of Tucson, AZ who was active during the year 1890, but I haven’t found anything. Do you happen to know of one? 🙂

@kendralynne518, unfortunately I do not, but I can make some time to do some additional research if required.
I was able to find a U.S. Marshals Service Roll Call which says a John Collins died in the line of duty in 08/10/1883;
Then in 1892-93, three Arizona marshals died in quick succession:
Vernon C. Wilson, 09/13/92′;
Tom C. Smith 11/04/92′;
C.B. Brockus 02/16/93′;
All of these are for the general “District of Arizona” so I think you could potentially get away with using any one of these.
Also notable from this site, Oklahoma is just the absolute worst place to be a U.S. Marshal. There are 10 U.S. Marshals who have died serving Arizona – NINETY FOUR for Oklahoma.
@the-inkspiller I think I may have read the same roll call! I’ll probably have to end up using one of them. Right now, the marshal that appears in my story shall remain nameless. 😀 I never knew that about Oklahoma! That’s interesting. U.S. Marshals do not seem to have lasted very long anywhere. Thank you for your help!
