    @Chalice great point!

    @Corissa *is bowled over and has to take a moment to collect her breath* I love all those ideas, but the one that’s really clicking for me is the one where the pixies are sweet and the masters don’t know it, and in the end the little chimneysweep chooses to keep at his occupation and stay with his pixie friends. That would keep us from straying into a tragic ending (happy endings are nice, once in a while— let’s see how heartwarming we can make this), provide a GREAT outlet for what @literatureforthelight was talking about with childish curiosity (the pixies represent imagination), and also put in an element of magic that grown-ups don’t believe but that children know is absolutely real. The little boy choosing to stay with his happy, curious friends and be content with that would really re-affirm the innocence and joy of childhood.

    I love the dilemma of the last one, but I think it’s too long and heavy to explore thoroughly in the amount of words that we have. I also feel like it would be better explored with a protagonist a little older than we’re going for, which kind of defeats the point.

    Thoughts? What about the rest of you? Can we get a vote between these two?
