Eiri sighed in relief and took the dagger, being careful to keep the blade away from her. “Thanks!” Now she’d be able to at least defend herself. And just in time too. Yet another wolf came barreling towards her. She raked the dagger across the beast’s snout when it got close. The creature yelped. Eero finished it off then moved on across the ‘battlefield’.

Eiri settled into a hopefully good defensive stance, not wanting to get off her knees. Alright wolves. Bring. It. On. Then, pain exploded in her shoulder. A wolf has snuck up on her from behind and bit her shoulder. She screeched and wildly flailed at the wolf with her free hand, luckily the one with the knife. She managed to slash it across the muzzle and it ran off. Then Eiri fell over backwards, panting heavily, blood staining the snow near her shoulder.
