Ohhhhhhh I see! That actually makes a lot of sense. I am an outliner 100%, but I get how you do it. That is amazing that you were able to get 16k!
At the moment I am using a very simplistic outline that I learned in school, and it is how I finished my first story (it was short, a little under 10k). Literally just Setting, Conflict, Resolution. Fill in those blanks and presto, story outline. But it is not cutting it anymore. I would like to find an outline to help integrate what I have been reading and learning in Structuring Your Novel. The author has a workbook to go with it, but I haven’t looked into it at all. I probably should.
If you don’t mind me asking, what is your NaNo project about? I always love hearing about other peoples’ stories. 😊
