Gah, I need to finish season 2 first. But I can’t wait!
I really love this, but…is this gonna be from first person or third? I’m not quite sure.

Hey ya’ll, I’m Devastate. @enu It’s okay. I’ve been adding only sentences every other week. Also, your ladybug fact always surprises me.
1. My genre is probably fantasy, though not high fantasy, because I find too many elves and orcs stereotypical My WIP is about a girl named Kindle who has to find all of her species and bring them together to a…[Read more]

Linyang Zhang replied to the topic 2018 Week 14: Showing internal conflict through external conflict in the forum Erekdale Writing Discussions 7 years, 8 months ago
Hmmm….I couldn’t come up with anything for a while….but in Kung Fu Panda 3, Po struggles internally to find out who he is in order to learn chi in order to defeat Kai, which I guess is sort of internal conflict in and external battle.

Linyang Zhang replied to the topic 2018 Week 15: Creating internal conflict (an article) in the forum Erekdale Writing Discussions 7 years, 8 months ago
I really liked that article, except now I feel like I need to draw out diagrams for every single detail of my story. I think I would personally like the two choices to be clearer in stories, I often can’t see them. One thing that stood out was that you could really be creative in making situations tough for the MC, it doesn’t have to be cliched. I…[Read more]

Linyang Zhang replied to the topic 2018 Week 16: When to pull back on conflict in the forum Erekdale Writing Discussions 7 years, 8 months ago
There should be some peace and quiet, I think, before you start getting into the climax, and right after the climax, too. Give the readers and characters time to breathe, sleep, rejuvenate. I can’t think of any examples but I know that if I were a character I’d want that. Maybe give him some quiet time to himself without really stressing all that…[Read more]

You can find it somewhere in Erekdale, either in announcements, chat, or worldbuilding. I’d go look in worldbuilding first, though.

Oh, someone tagged me! Hmm…Erekdale hasn’t won a guild war yet (but Avensbeck has won all of them) You can join our weekly theme discussions, and check out the worldbuilding doc. And being home schooled…I relate. (C’mon! We’re gonna finish three of your next year courses in three months!) Anyways, good to have you back!

Hey! Nice to see you again, @devastate-lasting. It’s been a while. Oh, well congratulations to Avensbeck then! 🙂 Worldbuilding doc? That sounds intriguing. Where can I find this doc? Haha, yeah. Sometimes it can be hard for homeschoolers to relate to the outside world. 😉

Linyang Zhang replied to the topic 2018 Week 13: The best external conflict ever in the forum Erekdale Writing Discussions 7 years, 8 months ago
Okay, can I agree with Sarah Narnathron? Because I have never really found external conflict that I’ve really liked, it was only ever fighting a villain, or dealing with other people, or life, or stuff…Nothing that really stood out that I can remember right now. Only the internal conflict.

Linyang Zhang replied to the topic 2018 Week 11: Antagonists creating internal conflict in the forum Erekdale Writing Discussions 7 years, 9 months ago
Hmmm…Since Adonis killed Kindle’s parents, she is basically bent on revenge towards him, preventing her from achieving her overall goal. She tries to overcome this, and after a long, long while, does at some point. (Haven’t figured that out yet)

Would this kid be childish or very mature? I think that even if he is a mature five year old, he should have a childish side. But good work at pulling the present tense off!
