“How do you know my name?”
Grimm flushed as he nearly dropped Jinx who was busy with the lock. “Hey watch it, Benedict Cumberbatch,” he grumbled.
You would think after three hundred years, give or take a decade, he would learn not to blurt out stuff like that. (before that they would think you were some kind of god and end up worshiping you. It…[Read more]

Grimm swallowed hard as he glanced up and down the line of cages. A lab… but why? How? Who? Had they injected him with something to keep him materialized?
“So how do we get out of here?” Jinx trotted over to Grimm.
“It looks like a pretty average lock,” Grimm mused as he bent down to examine the small keyhole.
“Then pick it.”
Grimm snorted,…[Read more]

“If you slap me one more time, I swear I’ll turn you into Chinese.” Grimm opened his eyes to see Jinx grudgingly lower his paw.
“You were the one sleeping on the job,” the black and white cat purred as he climbed off of the boy’s chest. “Now get off your butt and tell me where the heck we are.”
Grimm ran a hand through his dark hair as he slowly…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart Correct, although, arguably the modern-day version is a lot more interesting.
Well, here goes…
KKOA is a fantasy/steampunk mashup WIP of mine in which Jayce originates. A son of Bladashia, Jayce was born in a small village just east of their less friendly neighbor, Shadoni. He was an unusual child right from birth. You see…[Read more]

Ooh, good question. He is a rather unusual character, to say the least. He is one character that can really fit into any genre.
He actually has two versions. One being his original version as the main character of the first phase (which is actually the second phase) of Key Keepers of Archia. The other is a more modern-day version with a few…[Read more]

If you have a chance I would love to hear more about the setting and characters.
Also thanks, Jayce is one of my favorites. 😁

Well, the definition of a character flaw is a problem that directly affects the character’s actions and abilities, such as a violent temper. Alternatively, it can be a simple foible or personality defect, which affects the character’s motives and social interactions, but little else. (credit goes to google for that one)
Theoretically, there are…[Read more]

“Don’t trust a perfect person and don’t trust a song that’s flawless.”
One thing that turns me off to certain books, movies, and other forms of stories is the lack of relatability. Flaws and quirks are the very definition of humanity. Characters that lack both personal flaws and quirks lack an essential element of humanity as well as…[Read more]
