@quinn-ofallon Great suggestions! I kind of rotate between the sub-verb; clause, sub-verb; sub-verb, clause. Your suggested beginnings are all great! I use a lot of those, too. Thanks so much for sharing them!
@missfaeriekaiti Wow! What great examples! I struggle with the deep first/third perspectives, so these really help!! Starting sentences with “I” over and over and over is a lot of what I’m seeing in my first person. Even in my third person novella–an attempt at the deep third–starts with the MC’s name a lot (instead of “I”). So, I will definitely use some of these to try to get deeper into the MC’s head, regardless of pov.
@graceabounds2129 Haha, I only noticed because I hate repetition so much! Normally I radar my vocab and diction for repetition, but I’ve recently scoped out and looked at it on a broader level. Oh, that’s also a really neat idea. I’ll try to check for those kinds of shifts, too. Thank you! Ooh, great resource suggestion! Thanks! I’ll definitely look into it!
