@elisha-starquill M’kay, so I’m reading over your comments now…
I agree that it’d be interesting in 1st person π And I’m still giving serious thought to trying it… So we’ll see XD
Ah yes… I wasn’t sure quite how to refer to them, so I used those terms to make it easier for myself to know what I was talking about lol. So you’re saying have…[Read more]

That’s how my sister and I do a lot of our stories. Except it’s like we have all of our characters in one big story and kinda roleplay them to get the feel of their personalities and stuff and then we get more into their individual stories.

Ah! Look at the marvelously long comments!! Which I mean in a very non-sarcastic way! I just skimmed over them now, and I’ll have to take time tomorrow to actually read through and think about them fully, but I saw several things that looked very helpful. π

I feel like I’m kinda late…this isn’t my WIP, but will be after I finish my current fantasy project. I guess a quick synopsis that I made up a few days ago would be:
Micah Radcliffe is the leader of one of the gangs in Heather Flights’s underworld. However, after he refuses a deal from a mysterious drug dealer, the world which he has so…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 – Mm, not that I have anything against 3rd person (and actually I’m extremely biased towards 1st person, so take this statement with a grain of salt xD) but I think this story would be interesting in 1st person. It might be harder to write and get in the zone of, but it’d be super cool to see what the thoughts of a non-emotional…[Read more]

@elisha-starquill Why thank you!! π I’ll have to tag you when I have it written and I post a snippet or two π
*nods* Right. Got it. So this is where that little blurb on the inside of the jacket or on the back of the cover comes in handy π
That’s a good question… And I think it’s gonna be in 3rd person, because I don’t know if I can get…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 – WOW what a super cool premise! π Seriously, I want to read that story NOW.
*ahem* My first instinct, like what @jenwriter17 said, is that the reader doesn’t need to know all that information up front. In fact I think it’s better that they don’t, a better hook, because it’s mysterious when the MC talks/thinks/references things…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 *nods* Let me give you a summary of the plot real quick…
MC lives in a country where every child, at birth, has some sensors and a receptor surgically implanted in his brain and shoulder, respectively. The point of this is to sense when the person is feeling a heightened level of emotion (very sad, very happy, etc.), and give the…[Read more]

@chalice Thank youuu, friend! You’re so kind! ❤️
Your story sounds absolutely hilarious and delightful! It actually sounds similar to one I started writing a couple years ago about a girl who had to babysit her four little brothers for a week and ended up going on all sorts of absurd adventures. It was pure nonsense but quite fun to write and I…[Read more]

@eden-anderson, Okay, so, my contemporary story is still very much in the early stages. (Like, really early stages.) But it’s kind of a coming of age story about a teen-aged only child who babysits his neighbor’s kids while they’re off on a romantic get-away. 😆
It’s kind of my goofy/fun/lighthearted outlet since the other story I’m working on is…[Read more]

@eden-anderson, Your story sounds so sad and sweet! 😥❤ My dad plays guitar, so stories about guitarist are always a little nostalgic for me. I’m sure yours will turn out beautifully!
@arindown, Ahh! Your story sounds like something I would love to read. 😄 Country town, large cast of characters… 👌 Oh, yeah.
@beth20, Ooh, your premise sounds…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 Well, somebody else correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to have the reader know absolutely everything before the story actually starts. I would suggest just trying to weave it into the story, describing different things of the world as the characters interact with them.

Your story sounds really good! Love how you’re using normal kids, and then throwing them into a fantasy world.
Thanks. I feel like my stories are kinda a sit-by-the-fire sort. They’ve already provided my sisters and I hours of laughter. If I everΒ reallyΒ get around to writing them, I hope they’ll do the same for other people.😊
