@j-a-penrose Hey, thanks! Actually, I’ve been around, just been silently going through old topics and catching up on old lessons while learning to get around this huge forum. xD But thanks! It’s great to be back in the action again!
@steward-of-the-pen Oh wow, I love that quote. So you want to go for leaves? How’s something like this? This is something random I wrote up while brainstorming yesterday:
Sharp edges pierce through the wind, her body flittering to the ground like a butterfly. Vibrant are her colors as she flips and twirls amidst the bleak sky. And along her outer edges, fiery vermillion adorns her outstretched fingertips like red polish on a lady’s chic nails. Though her appearance speaks so loudly, her landing speaks so softly—oh, ever so softly. Inconspicuously she settles amidst viridescent blades of grass and wet earth, the only evidence of her landing the ripples of her kiss in the puddle beneath.
Her ripples beckon me, drawing me in. My rubber boots quietly take step after step, responding to her with its own ripples in the puddles it kisses until I have reached her resting place. In the mirror of her waterbed, the bitter, bleak sky slowly ripples into a reflection of myself with my auburn tresses cascading down toward her. Glittering with wonder, my hazel eyes scan over her sleek fingers; and upon further inspection, the vermillion on her tips fade into gold and the gold into green at her center. Intricate veins scatter across her body all the way to the tips of her fingers like tiny rivulets in a river delta. “Vous est belle, érable,” I whisper beneath my breath.
(Sorry if I butchered the French. I looked it up online but am not sure if that’s exactly correct. 😅)
Here’s another random snippet I made. Feel free to add to, change, critique, or scrap any of these drafts for the guild war. This is my first time contributing any writing for a guild war; so I’m not really sure if I’m doing this right. 😅
The little leaf is a little world in its own with bridges and microscopic factories to little storehouses for winter’s rations. From the rising of the sun to the setting of the moon, law and order preside within its world—laws of nature that its Creator set in place for its wellbeing and safekeeping.
