I find this thread very interesting, because I’ve been through stuff like this before. Times when I tried to pray, or read my Bible, but it always felt like I didn’t really mean it. And I didn’t know how to mean it.
I don’t really know what to say, but I’m going to say some things anyway.😊
Keep pressing on. Keep praying, and reading, and going about life. Sometimes it felt like I had lost my purpose to life, but God was still there. One of my favourite singers (and authors) Andrew Peterson wrote a song called, The Silence of God. One of the main lines is, “And heaven’s only answer, is the silence of God.” It’s a reminder that just because He seems silent doesn’t mean He’s not listening or acting. There is sunlight on the other side of the clouds.
Find joy in the little things. Like @katja-r mentioned, sometimes focusing on the little things can make all the difference. When I find myself in a low place, I often realize that I’m skipping the small things…like playing with my little brother, taking a moment to watch a hawk fly over, singing while washing the dishes, or even just stopping a moment to smell the breeze. God seems to use the little things to remind us who we are and what we’re here for. We’re here to love and to live for His glory.
Stay thankful. In times when it feels like my life has hit slow-motion, I find myself pleading with God to show me how to become joyful again (I even wrote the lyrics to a song about it😄), but I forget to thank Him. Sometimes just making myself be thankful helps. Teaching myself to look for things to be thankful for, and even (sometimes) writing them down in my journal.
I don’t know if this helps. I’ll be praying for you.
