Rebels of the Mobian Restoration (AU Sonic Retelling/FanFic Saga):
Once there was a human who found a way that people could be fixed. They could be rewired. They could live forever. In metal bodies that he designed.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t change people’s bodies in earth. He went to another world to do that. A world of small, powerful animal-patterned aliens with strange gifts and relics. That world also needed fixing. He had thought it would be the perfect place to create eternal life before he brought it back to his own race.
He had told himself that he wasn’t going to mess up this time. In earth, he had tried to ask people. They had screamed and ran from him. They said he was…insane. So this time he didn’t ask. The planet was his lab, and every alien on it was his labrat.
No. This time, his mistake was not killing a child. A Mobian blue hedgehog-patterned child who promised the human that he would never stop fighting.

Whenever construction crews tried to tear down the forest, they ended up dead. Strangled, impaled on tree limbs. The locals outside the woods said it was haunted and they’d glimpsed fur-covered monsters stealing in the moonlight, then escaping in boats down the river.Â
But sometimes, every now and then, someone gets inside the Wood. Few of them come back. And the ones who do just smile at the outsiders who ask, and answer:
“It’s big in there.”
