I see! Dhilorwis sounds like a fantastic place. I am concerned for this first group. I doubt the Great Squirrel is worthy of much adoration. >-<
Are the tales of Dhilorwis recorded anywhere?

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!!!
Well met! *bows* Is the story with the wolves available for reading? I haven’t read a good animal story in SO SO long. 😀
The stories with animal characters that impacted me most were…
    Disney! XD XP
For real. Growing up as a kid I just watched alot of movies with animal characters. (Robin Hood is still one of my favorite animal characters of all time. I think Robin Hood singlehandedly started the furry fandom.) Trufflehunter in Narnia, of course, was a huge foundation throughout my childhood. <3 Then there was Redwall. That series changed my life. It made me want to be a warrior.
There are two really well done animal-based comics out there–Lackadaisy and Dreamkeepers. However I cannot vouch for all their content. Especially Dreamkeepers. I /love/ the art style on that one, but I started it and soon realized it would not be wise for me to finish. *sadness* In a weird way, I think violence and sensuality in comics is way worse than in movies, ’cause instead of a passing scene you’ve got an image just waiting there and you can stare at it as long as you like. Uhg. *sighs*

I have lots of different types of animal characters, but in general I like characters that walk on two feet and lean more to the human side than the animal side. The Sonic Retelling I’m working on has Mobians–which are really aliens, but they are based off of animal patterns. In another story though, I have Animal-kind and they are more classic anthropomorphic animals.

What about you? Do you know any good animal stories? I would love to find more. 🙂 Are wolves your favorite animals?
