@ashira – I suppose it isn’t a bad movie for some people, like my brothers and mom, it just depends on how you handle movies like that.
@ericawordsmith – I’m five foot two. So… yeah, you can claim me as your personal hobbit. Even though I’m a foot and a half taller than a normal hobbit… *shurgs* Oh, and yes, shurging is a thing. I invented it. It’s like a non-commenting head and shoulders move. I mostly invented it because I kept misspelling shrug. 😀
I… must not be remembering right. I actually haven’t played Catan in a while. We don’t own it, so we have to get it from the library. 😊
My spinning is very, very rudimentary and slow, but yes, still there. Not on one leg though. 😊
*shivers* I know Annabelle is a doll in a horror story… I just can’t fathom how anybody in the world thinks those things are okay.
Plus, I’ve never liked most dolls in general just because I have always thought they’re a little creepy, they’re used in horror movies a lot, and then in real life situations they are actually used a lot in things like abductions and psycho people situations… it’s just awful.
Thank you for the ‘long-winded rant’, as you say. I considered it a beautiful attempt to help a friend. 😊 I have tried going out near the woods… it’s still just so hard. Our yard is an acre and surrounded on three sides by woods. Even when I get out of the car in the driveway, it’s only ten yards to the woods, so I don’t like being anywhere outside around our house at night. Well, the porch is okay. But just the porch. If I really want fresh air and to see the stars, I’ll go out on the porch.
I know it’ll take time. And I know it’s not as bad as at was at first. The night I saw it and my mom came up while I was panicking, I had to go back down and watch a Doris Day musical on the couch to keep my mind off it. For a few weeks after that, just being in my room with the lights off was creepy. Now I’m okay with most dark places, just not outside by the woods. Like, outside on a sidewalk in front of Walmart would be okay, but not the woods.
I’ve written some verses on a card and put it up on my window that looks out over our backyard and woods, and those have helped so, so much. I can’t imagine how people deal with things like this when they don’t believe in God and don’t turn to Him for help and comfort.
And even though I am talking about a big fear of mine, this has been a conversation I love. Without even meeting most of you, you guys have become my closest friends behind my family and church family. 😊
@catwing – I know! I would feel so bad, but all the time be thinking of so many questions to ask them for writing purposes. 😊
@seekjustice – It is funny… and funny how different people are. I read the Narnia books when I was probably eight, and I had absolutely no problem with the Tash illustrations. When I was that young, the things that scared me were… and this is going to seem ridiculous… movies with mice and rats, particularly evil rats. The Rescuers, The Great Mouse Detective, The Secret of Nyhm, American Tail, The Tale of Desperaux… they all terrified me. And now I’m just fine with them. 😊
Now a movie question… have you ever seen the Tintin movie??? It’s so good! No mummies. 😊 It’s about Red Rackham’s treasure, if you remember that from the books.
