@everyone
I’m dropping in another character who was in the Character Castle 2.0. To those who were in that castle, he has gone through such a personality/pretty much everything change so that he is unrecognizable. XD
Conroy Flinston
Age: around 8-10 (I know, I know, he was in his twenties before, but plans change, drastically in this case…[Read more]

*rushes in and is relieved to find that things haven’t changed much*
I think I’m going too drop Basil in again sometime. He’s changed a lot since he was last in here – I’ve finally nailed his backstory and motivations, so that’s changed, but he’s no less of an annoying brat XD
I’d love to see Basil again (never mind that I saw very li…[Read more]

“I’ll open the safe.” Arsene said finally, no witty remark or scheme this time…Alessio wasn’t sure how to respond to that…Carefully, the robber set the lady down as gently as if she were a queen. What was Arsene? He just couldn’t gauge him, just how dangerous or amoral was he? He…seemed to care, but not about his own life or – Alessio shook off…[Read more]

So.
It was quiet.
Not a real quiet, only the façade of silence loud with insecurities, and with torturous anticipation.
A numb sort of quiet because it was coming again. If the silence were a color it would be grey – not pure white or wicked black, not a single color really. The kind of grey that blocks out all the other colors and just fa…[Read more]

haha. Well, thank you! @calidris
Will Ku find romantic love… I’m sad to say I don’t know yet. I can’t really say yet…
Ku is very close with her adopted family. But… you know, she’s a teenager. lol. Especially with her background, teenage years is where she really seeks to find her place outside her family and has those pesky questions…[Read more]

@jared-williams awww I feel so sad for Ku :'(
I know this is probably a spoiler, but will Ku find romantic love? Or, a close lifelong friend?
I’m sorry but I’ve wholeheartedly adopted her now XD

Ku’Aya
My heart was in the pit of my stomach, my ears were burning, and my stomach was caught up in my throat. What was wrong with me? I can’t believe I actually asked him to marry me! I’d have squealed in embarrassment if it wouldn’t have made it worse.
“I can’t file houses!” Ehud hollered stiffly. From the jagged hair line, across from ear t…[Read more]

A few ideas for you….
– spooked guards and rumors spread about seeing things in the night while your mc overhears
– bring the ghost in stages… perhaps your ghost is just figuring out how to interact, so that’s where the stages come in; for example, perhaps at first your mc gets flashes of cold randomly. of course the mc would think nothing…[Read more]

I don’t feel like the best person to give advice, but it sounds to me like you probably have enough foreshadowing. You have Jake somewhere where experiments on done on convicts, while Felix is a convict who had experiments done on him. You have the little bits of hinting, etc. Also, until you get close to the climax, it’s pretty expected for new…[Read more]

@jared-williams incidentally, I’ve just recently recovered from a two week long bout of Covid as well XD
Name meanings are so cool! I used to really be into name meanings, but now I mainly pick names based on the sound or aesthetic.
There was one really cool coincidence though, where I had two opposing characters who accidentally ended up with…[Read more]

awesome! and a well-written post! I liked how you portrayed the dance, her worries, and her euphoria in the perfect moment.
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it!
That bird/mythology/literature name theme is cool! (Turkey? XD) Crow seems to just fit Calliope.
Thank you! 😀

After listening to the boy rambling, Arsene finally spoke. “I’ll open the safe.”
Gently setting Lady Crorie down, Arsene continued. “After I open the safe, we’ll leave the ferry.”
Leaping onto the safe, Arsene powered up. Putting his hands against the safe, Arsene channeled the black nether.
“Before we leave,” the boy started, “You should know…[Read more]

That bird/mythology/literature name theme is cool! (Turkey? 😂) Crow seems to just fit Calliope. I did a floral theme in Between Here and Fairyland. My MC was Malai, which is a Thai name meaning “garland of flowers.” She was a flower seller and flower garlands were an important symbol in the book. Some of her family member…[Read more]

Ophelia
Abirami and Jade were struggling. Abirami seemed completely clueless about what to do. It was hardly his fault, Jade hadn’t given him many explanations or enough time to actually learn it.
I watched with deep amusement as he seemed to be trying to walk on his toes without actually managing it.
Jade danced well, but wasn’t nearly as good…[Read more]

Glad you’re back! I love those names! Naming characters something that actually means something is very fun, especially when it has the right sound as well!
I’ve been having a lot of fun with that for the Murder of Swans’ characters XD For all of them, I tried to reference either mythology or literature. Except for…[Read more]

It would be best if you gave me a link to the document. Do you want to put it in this Castle room, or the one I recently saw you posted about beta reading? (I’m guessing it’s the same story?)
Abirami’s mother, Aefflaed, is Anglo-Saxon and means “elf-beauty”
Yes, I noted that name! It’s pretty, and similar to Anglo-Saxon…[Read more]

Abirami
Ophelia and Isaias danced across the stage. They were so elegant!
They were so close!
My cheeks burned. Isaias lifted Ophelia so gracefully, and she flew through the air, but I wasn’t transfixed by the flight. I was transfixed by how close they were. There was barely any space between them.
I’d never been that close to a woman before.…[Read more]
