    Hey Noah,

How have you been? How are life, school, writing, and the weather? (You know, the important things šŸ˜‰ )

We’ve had three massive storms over the course of six days. Respectively, Dudley, Eunice, and now Franklin. Eunice was the worst. We didn’t have any serious damages (A few things fell over and broke, a bunch of dead branches everywhere, and one of our plum trees ripped in half) It was stressful but could have been a lot worse. Let me tell you it’s not fun to hear a hundred-year-old house creaking around you with that kind of massive wind.

Everything is one big mud puddle and I honestly can’t remember last time I saw the sun, so I’m very done with winter. Oh, and I have an anecdote related to how the horses handled the storm, remind me to tell you. (It’s a good one, I embarrass myself quite spectacularly)

Writing has been… difficult at best. I’m not stuck, I know what to write, I just struggle to actually write it. I’m still on track but mostly because I had a big head-start. I just started on the first midpoint at 72k.

(I don’t know how but I managed to haveĀ fourĀ midpoints. Two character midpoints and two plot midpoints, and they all happen consecutively, so that’s chaos.)

Since we last spoke, my characters have gotten in fights, commited arson, and hurled snakes at people, so it certainly hasn’t been boring. (I wish this was an exaggeration but all of these things actually happened.)

Situation is still loosely the same, one character is cooperating and making himself as interesting as possible and Liorah is balking like a lame mule.

Besides that I got a new story idea (a loosely contemporary mystery) and the two main characters promptly emerged, considerably developed, and started talking to me. Unfortunately they’ve done nothing but cause trouble and nag me, so I finally relented and wrote one of their scenes as a short story. I hope that’s enough to keep them in the back of my mind until the trilogy is finished, but I doubt it.

It’s surprisingly interesting though. They’re really interesting characters, I have to admit. They have a cool dynamic.

School has been the same, perhaps slightly more stressful than usual. Physics will be the death of me.

The HEMA club announced that we’ll be hosting the National championships this year, but it’s on a Saturday so I won’t be attending. An immense pity, they need voulenteers and it would have been really fun to see. However they’ll hopefully be recorded so I can at least watch them afterward.
