Nope. Well, the club doesn’t have or use any but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the reenactment folks have some. I know at least my instructor and probably a few others do or have done reenactment.

That’s hilarious. That ‘they stopped  wearing plate armor because of heatstroke’ part especially. Gold. xD

Oh, absolutely. I was honestly stunned. And about five minutes before I’d had to explain what HEMA was because he’d never heard of it and he instantly turned around and tried to explain it to me. I just pulled out of the conversation after that because I absolutely would have laughed. XD Or gotten exhasperated which is bad too XD

I would never indulge in such humor.

Apparently it’s a fairly normal reaction XD I was complaining about how I was doing everything wrong because I was panicking and someone else said “As long as you hit them it’s not wrong.” Which is very solid reasoning XD

In other news, I ordered a copy of The Book Thief (I only have it on audiobook) and I’m planning to go through and annotate it to study the prose. (With sticky notes because I’m one of those people who cannot write in a book. Still feels like sacrilege.)

(Also the cover was very pretty and I got an illustrated copy so it’s absolutely worth it)

Anyway I’ll probably end up ranting to you about it in an attempt to understand it better so brace yourself I guess XD
