Just the other day someone tried to explain to me how crusaders started using maces because it took too long to draw their longswords and they’d get stabbed before that Incidentally the same person who told me they stopped wearing plate armor during the crusades because too many people died of heatstroke. And who said knights wore daggers in their boots and just stood on one leg to reach it.

That’s hilarious. That ‘they stopped  wearing plate armor because of heatstroke’ part especially. Gold. xD

Admittedly most of those friends are writers who are notorious for their somewhat violent and dark sense of humor so that plays a role

I would never indulge in such humor.
