The two I guessed were brothers exchanged sharp words. I didn’t pay much attention, but I couldn’t miss the tone. That’s just what being a sibling was like.

The tall one strode past us, and I didn’t take my gaze off him. Something about him put me on edge. I didn’t claim to have the best intuition but something was off.

I glanced at Aydin, but he was still asleep. Good.

The younger hovered next to us, leaning on a makeshift crutch. I saw at a glance that his left leg was missing below the knee. Probably an accident.

My sharp gaze fixed back on him again and he shrunk into himself, apparently disliking the attention. Sudden sympathy took over.

“Hey,” I said, rather shortly. “I’m Liorah. Who are you?”
