The blood flow from Brendin’s nose halted at a touch from Jericho.

“Let’s just all take a moment…to calm down…and divide our rations, and save our strength for the next disaster.” 

“Yes, that would seem wise,” Jericho said, somewhat wryly.  She sat down on the grass and watched quietly as Alessio and the wolf-girl – Lupa? – began conversing.

Brendin sat beside her.  “We really need to select a leader,” he said in Kithin.

“You aren’t wrong, my friend,” Jericho answered, also in Kithin.  “Though for that I think we will need to be completely honest with each other.  Otherwise no one will trust, and we are less likely to survive.”  At his silence, she gave a long sigh.  “I do not mean to cause you suffering.  It will be hard for me as well, my friend.”

Brendin remained silent.

Jericho placed a hand on his shoulder, gently instilling some calm and reassurance.
