Ferguson’s eyes patrolled the shoreline of the mainland. The waters would had gone down substantially while they had slept, and soon the company would cross what used to be a small creek, and return to mainland, and the forest they called their home. Well, at least they used to. Ever since….well, everything happened, Ferguson didnt know where to call home. He supposed it would be where he and his friends settled down next.

He looked up at the sky, the light waxing, growing stronger and brighter each moment. Soon he’d wake the others, but not yet. For now, he would enjoy this little piece of beauty in such a broken world.

Also an idea i had, was that when they cross, something bad should happen, giving them another setback, i.e. injury, chase, or something. Just a thought
