Hey, I know we haven’t officially met on SE, but I was reading the premise of peoples’ novels (just to see what the young authors of the world are cooking up 😛 ) and I came across yours. I must say, as someone whose family has fostered and adopted, I did not only connect with it extremely well (it sounds identical to our story basically!), but I love it. It sounds like such a wonderful book, and I really want to encourage on creating such a brilliant story. 😀

    • Aw, wow, thank you so much!! <3 I'm so glad! That's really cool that your family fosters and adopts too! My older sister is adopted. 🙂 What are your experiences with fostering?
And it's so nice to meet you!
(Also, were you able to read it the book?)

      • That’s awesome! Two of my younger sisters are, too. 😀 I guess my experiences are something along these lines: We first were placed with the youngest of four siblings who had all been removed that night. Eventually we also took the youngest’s older sister, the second youngest, who had been almost equally neglected at her foster home as she had been before. (This is still a source of struggle. She was born with a cleft pallet and would be in such a better place with it and her behaviors if the foster home had taken better care of her. ) After lots of trouble with their bio grandmother, who was unable to take them but was still postponing the adoption, understandably, we finally adopted them and still get together with the other family who adopted the other two siblings, both of whom sadly have delays. How about you? What is your experience? (Sorry for the lengthy explanation!)
Yes, it’s really nice to meet you! I’ve seen your blog, and I love it, and I’m planning to subscribe. 😉
I actually wasn’t able to read the book. I only saw the blurb. But I would love to read it! Is there a place were I can get it?

    • Hey, sorry for the late reply!
That is SO cool that you were able to adopt them! <3 It must be so exciting!
Well, the reason we started fostering was because my parents thought they couldn't have kids, so they decided to foster. They fell in love with the girl who came! Then I was born, and when I was two years old (and she was five) we finally adopted her! It's so crazy to think that if I was born right away, I wouldn't have an older sister.
Then my younger brothers were born and we didn't foster for a long time afterwards, but a few years we started back up again. The hard thing with fostering, though, is that we aren't allowed to adopt anymore. So even though our new baby 'sister' has lived with us for almost 2 years, we will never have full custody over her. But we're certainly praying!
Aww thanks! I'm so glad you like my blog! (speaking of which I should probably post on there again lol)
Yep, you can get it on Amazon (https://www.amazon.ca/Bruised-Dream-Alabama-Rose/dp/148661938X/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=the+bruised+dream&qid=1606196085&sr=8-1) or some other online stores (Barnes&Noble, Christian Book etc.) I hope you're able to find a copy! 🙂
How've you been doing with all the crazy stuff going on this year? Hanging in there?

      • Oh, you’re totally fine. I get it; life’s pretty crazy.
Thank you! We really are! <3
That's so awesome! It's such a sweet testimony. Would you like me to pray as well about your foster sister? I understand the feeling, though. We almost adopted a Native American baby, but his tribe wouldn't let him get adopted, and he moved to a different foster home. But having her for 2 whole years would definitely make it so much harder. But God can do great things, so who knows?
Lol, if I owned a blog, I know I would somehow manage to forget about for an insane amount of time before remembering to post on it XD So I don't know how you bloggers do it!
Nice! I will definitely buy it, then. I look forward to reading it 😉
Oh, boy. You're definitely right. This year is crazy. Yep, I suppose I've been hanging in there, lol. Gone a little stir crazy, got a little anxious, but overall, hey, I can't complain when I look at the rest of the world. It's brought my family closer, too, so that's always a win. 🙂 How about you? How are you among all this? 😛

      • That would be awesome if you could pray for her! Thank you!
Aw, that’s so sad you weren’t allowed to adopt him. I wish things were different. <3
Haha yessss! I know, right!? I'm not very consistent at blogging at all haha! Plus I just feel like I don't have very many interesting things to say, lol.
That's so awesome! I hope you like the book!
Yup! Stircrazy and anxious over here, too! XP Although I can't say that quarantine was completely awful, haha! I enjoyed parts of this year, but it's definitely been a struggle. We're doing alright, though!

      • Yeah, I totally will!
I do, too. 🙁 I guess it’s because it’s a broken system created by broken people.
Lol XD I wonder if most bloggers feel that way at some time or another…
Yay! I can’t wait for it!
Saaamme!! Here’s a random question concerning this quarantine: What’s the funniest thing that happened during it? (I mean, even if nothing all THAT funny happened, something amusing must’ve occurred!)

    • Thank you!
Yes, exactly. I SO wish I could change something.
Haha probably! It’s pretty rough, but it’s fun, lol!
Ooooh that’s the best question I’ve heard concerning Covid and everything!! One hilarious thing we did during quarantine is recreate a music video from YouTube. The song is called “Why Don’t We Just Dance” by Josh Turner. My siblings and I totally made up a whole dance routine and it was AMAZING and so funny!! My brother and I even learned how to do the whole lift and spin thing in the old dances!
What about you? What funny thing happened with your family?

      • Oh my word!! That sounds HILARIOUS!
Hmmm…The funniest thing must’ve been when my brother did a “stand up comedy” show for us all, relaying his experiences from when he was in Papua New Guinea on a mission trip… It was so funny!

      • Haha it was SO FUN!! The best part was just learning to dance.😂
Ooh that is awesome!! Stand up comedy is great! 😉
Papua New Guinea!? That is so cool! When did he go there?
I’m hoping to do some travelling after I graduate this year, but maybe the borders wont be open by then. 😥
