@toklaham-veruzia Hey! Just wanted to say hi. I joined SE a couple days ago and found your profile somehow (I’m used to a directory of all users, since that’s how it is on YDubs…). Maddie and I have been texting but I find it a little weird to always be saying things like “does Zachary like Story Embers?” (after seeing you in the background of a video lesson w/ Josiah). Maybe it would be better to say, Hey, Zachary, do you like Story Embers?
(I’m gonna guess that you do.)
Also, fair warning, I’ve kinda got into the habit of referring to you as Zach since that’s what Maddie calls you, but I’m open to not doing so if you prefer.
Anyway, hi, I’m on SE, I like your writing and I sort of stalk you via your sister. *grins* This is weird but whatever, I’m doing it.

Huh, did I not reply to this? I meant to.
Well, Maddie just got your letter and told me that you messaged me on Story Embers. To answer your question: yes, I do like Story Embers. The staff members are all fantastic writers (especially Josiah deGraaf, who easily ranks among one of my favorite authors of all time. I got to beta read his novel… it was incredible). I haven’t been involved in the SE forums much since the formation of my writing group, the Iron Project, to which I owe the fact that I actually completed my epic fantasy novel. All six members met each other through SE, so that wouldn’t have happened without the community Story Embers provides.
Also, Zach is fine. So is Zachary, or Napoleon. The only thing I am NOT fine with anyone calling me is Zach Attack. It grates on my ears every time.
Sister-assisted stalking is acceptable.

That’s awesome! I’ve actually yet to read any of Josiah’s work (despite the fact that I have a free copy of one or two of his stories *hides in a corner*) but I beta read for Daeus and his work is incredible too! The whole SE community/network is amazing.
Congratulations! When did you finish your novel? I’m still working on mine. What does the “Iron” in your group name refer to? Is it the verse about iron sharpening iron?
Okay then. I’ll do my best to remember. What’s the origin of the nickname Napoleon? Btw, I go by Hermione, Janner, and Gilan at various times. Also Jo (but that one’s really only in my head; no one actually calls me it). Maya is usually the best name for me. Please don’t call me Maya Papaya, though.

Thank you. I have enjoyed it — I tend to neglect reading email list emails, but I always like yours and make sure to read them. (Or at least skim. And then re-read when the PS reminds me that I ought to have done so in the first place.)
Would it be better if I emailed you? I sometimes forget about SE too. But usually I remember that I have an email.
Oh, and one other thing. What kind of books do you like to read?
