Yep, it’s a catch-22 with research vs brainstorming. XD I guess we writers just can’t escape the more tedious side of things. Not to mention plotting, character development, and outlining. *gets tired just thinking about it all*

Ok, I will try to satisfy your curiosity about the religion in my story… Yes,R I’m going  for a trinitarian religion. Right now I just have general ideas in place. And I’m trying to decide if the “true” religion should be mainstream or more of the minority. I’m leaning towards the minority. The most detailed I’ve gotten with it is to figure out these guys called Song Wardens. They’re a mixture of a bard, a prophet, and a wizard. The Creator has given them a divine commission to sing truth to the people. With that commission comes special powers. I envision them as being mistreated because the people don’t want to hear the truth about themselves and their Creator. (Think prophets in the OT) As for their special powers… I’m trying to figure out what would work best for my story. Maybe the power of healing?

I’m also envisioning the state of my world as being before a Christ figure. More of an Old Testament feel. So the people are looking forward to a Redeemer. And their surroundings are more paganistic.

As for the cult… I don’t have all the specifics boiled down, but I’m going to include “special powers” in it. Instead of coming from the Creator (Melodos), they come from demonic entities. The price for the powers is great. For example, to read minds, you must lose your eyes. For this reason, there aren’t too many people willing to get these powers. I’m still working through these things, so they could change in the future.

Now I’m curious what religion you have in the story that the Countess and Myrrha are from… 😉

Yeah, I know what you’re saying about Myrrha’s temptation thing being a picture of sin and how it enslaves. It’s scary, but also true.

Wow, sounds like you have an epic battle between your characters for who gets to be the MC. 😂
