(Okay, . . . Just didn’t want to mess anything up.

Maybe actually Megyn’s appearance would help get her and Thaddeus inside. Like, if Thaddeus realized Moira wasn’t going to let him in and  so started leave. Them he found Megyn and brought her back and tried again and since she’s cold and sorta sick, Moira might let them in. But that’s just a suggestion. Take it or leave it, it’s okay with me. 🙂)

A twig snapped. Megyn turned her head at the sound, her eyes searching the shadows.

A deer stood there, still as though it had been carved from stone. For a moment it stood there, hoof raised and eyes staring at her.

With a flick of its ear, it bounded away, springing lightly over a fallen log and disappearing into the dark.

Megyn sighed and stumbled on. He maketh my feet like hind’s feet. She thought.

She refocused on the smoky curl in the sky, which now began to glow an eeire gray against the midnight blue sky. Father, give me strength to make it there.
