That’s cool! I think the genre overarching fantasy and sci-fi is called speculative fiction, so I bet your stories would fit under that category! What’re some of your current ideas/stories about?

Yes, I consider myself a writer of speculative fiction, because it’s more general. Here are some of my stories/ideas:
1. “Candles & Kaleidoscopes”: Sixteen-year-old Hayley Marks has a superpower of being able to see memories when she touches objects. However, she’s forced to grapple with her purpose alone, because no one believes her. She struggles with not wanting to “waste” her destiny, but she doesn’t live in a fantasy/sci-fi world with a superhero team- she’s just trying to get through everyday life in a 2010-ish city, and she thinks she’s the only one with superhuman abilities.
2. “Copycat” (working title) – In the year 2050, the world is bombarded by aliens that take after the likeness of their enemies. The protagonist, soon-to-be psychology professor Kaprissa Knight, tries to understand these aliens as she struggles with her own emotions.
3. “The Complex” (working title) – At the age of 8, Hayzle Grey develops a medical condition that causes sporadic blackouts and other symptoms. During the blackouts, Hazle enters a room where various objects represent different aspects of her life/psyche (e.g., a photo album that shows her memories, a calendar that reveals the day she will die, etc.). She grows from realizing her mortality, and she must decide whether she will continue living for herself or switch to living for the benefit of others. Meanwhile, she faces the antagonists of her narcissism, her illness, and the mysterious Theif.
