So sorry that I have been gone so long. My life has been crazy recently. I had mid-terms (high-school), basketball tournaments, Thanksgiving vacation without internet access. *rips out hair over memory*

Anyways, I am back for now.

I love what y’all have done so far.

I am considering bringing some antagonists, don’t know what y’all think about that. If y’all are on board I will bring some in. Also, if I bring antagonists in, I would need to know what kinds would be appropriate. In Theseus’ story, there are several types of, for lack of a better term right now, baddies. Some have certain super powers, while others are highly trained humans.

OK, let us see what Theseus has been doing during this time.

As I walked into the dining room, I immediately perked up at the site of all the food set out.

This must be paradise! Look at all the foods! There is pizza, baked potato fixings, buckeyes, pecan pie, ice-cream, steak, grits, mac and cheese, lasagna, pasta, soup, noodles, spaghetti, cranberry salad, lamb, this place has everything!

Wait a second, My brain cautioned, what if the food is poisoned? Are you just going to tuck in? You know nothing about this place, is it really wise to trust food that it sets before you? What if this is a trap?

Shut up! My taste buds replied, we don’t care if it is poisoned, it looks tasty.

I am hungry! My stomach chimed in.

You’re always hungry. Said my brain.

Come on, please! My body wheedled.

Finally my brain gave in, and I attacked the food. However, even hungry as I was, I kept an eye on my surroundings. I still didn’t trust that Vladlena chick. Something about her seemed off.

Man I wish Max or Abigail were here. They would be able to tell me if she is trustworthy. I forgot how annoying it is to have to watch your back all the time. I’ve been off the streets too long.

As I thought, I felt a pang of loneliness and realized that I missed my clan. Suddenly, a flicker of movement drew my eye. My senses jerked to high alert, and my hand dropped to the hilt of my sword until I realized that it was just Runawin. I watched her slip out of the room, and considered going to make sure that she stayed safe, but decided that she could protect herself just fine.  As we all tucked in, I listened to the conversation between Vladlena and Caedon.

“What does your name mean, Vladlena?” Caedon queried.

Vladlena’s inordinately long pause only heaped more fuel on my suspicions. Either she was trying to come up with an answer (lie) that would fool us, or she was trying to figure out how much she could reveal about herself. Either way she was concealing at least part of her identity from us, and I didn’t like it!

“A heart of fiery spirit,” she said at last.

At least her answer sounds honest. Man I wish I could read minds like Abigail. That would be super helpful right now!

“It suits you. What country are you from?” Caedon continued his questioning.

Dang, I would not want this kid interrogating me. He is a natural! Where are the blinding lamps to set the mood?

“Russia. Outskirts of St. Petersburg, to be exact.”

What the heck? Crap, not one of the government radicals! Keep your face calm! Hopefully she won’t recognize you! Well, at least now I know she can’t be trusted. I’ve got to tell Lucas! I’m still not sure if I trust him, but I KNOW she’s the enemy. Does she have the gift? If so this could get ugly fast! I’m not sure I can protect the kid, Runawin, Lucas, and myself while still taking her out.

“Where are you from?” Vladlena asked.

“Solina. Have you heard of it?”

Huh? Where? Dang! Now I got some sort of space alien kid to watch too. This just gets weirder and weirder. I almost wish I was back on the streets! At least there I knew that I had to be careful of everybody because everybody was liable to kill me!

Vladlena shook her head. “Is it a large country? A monarchy, perhaps?”

The kid gave a strange smirk and said, “Solina isn’t a country. It’s a city. The capital city of Reimira, to be exact. It used to be a monarchy, but now the Reimirian Council makes most of the decisions. My—”

I know what that pause means. He was about to reveal too much information.  Now there are at least two who are potentially incredibly dangerous. I’ve heard some of those space dudes can kill a full grown Rarmadoni.

“Mr. McAsgain!” Caedon cried. “He’s disappearing! Mr. McAsgain!”

Son of a motherless goat! There goes at least a potential ally! Now my only potential ally is a wolf who ran off a half hour ago!

Looking over at Caedon, I realized that he appeared on the verge of tears!

Either this kid is a good actor, or he was planning on eating us.

No! Stop it! Don’t think like that! Maybe he is one of the nice aliens.

    What nice ali….?

Suddenly, I realized that while I was arguing with myself, Vladlena had moved over to comfort Caedon.

Either they are planning to gang up on me, or she doesn’t know about the danger of the aliens. Neither one is good. Where is Runawin!?!?!? I need someone who I don’t suspect of being evil!

Suddenly I had an idea. If I got us to move and keep exploring, I might be able to find a place or situation that would give me a better chance of defeating both of them without being injured myself. It would also help to protect Runawin. I didn’t need to be worrying about protecting her when the showdown came.

“Wow that meal was good!” I exclaimed, “Now that we have gotten some sustenance, we ought to keep exploring. Maybe we will find a way out of this place!”

As I spoke, I rose from my seat, and moved towards the door. Glancing back, I saw that the other two had risen, and were following me. Hoping to trick them into underestimating me, I conjured a ball of fire in my hand, and stepped into the gloom of the outer hallway.

Maybe they won’t know about me. Most fire users are only fire users. Hopefully they will think that is all I can do. Then I will be able to hit them with some of my other weapons.

After leaving the dining room, I took a left and began to stride confidently down the hall. After about half a mile of walking, I judged we were far enough that it would be difficult for Runawin to find us.

Don’t need her barging in in the middle of a fight. Either she will get killed, or she will attack me. Neither of those situations sounds particularly appealing right now.

I looked over and saw a promising door. It was made of slats of oak held together by bands of iron. In place of a handle, there was a large iron ring. I seized it, and yanked the door open.

Well, this room will work if it comes to a battle. I’ll have plenty of space, and plenty of access to water.

Behind the door there was an enormous open space, that continued as far as I could see. Off to the left side of the door there was a large forest, while on the right sat the foothills of a mountain range. In front of the door was a large lawn which extended down to a lake that sat about a mile from the door. Feeding the lake was a stream which began just a few feet to the right of the door that I had just stepped through.

Well, there you go. Looking forward to what you do with it!
