@elisha-starquill – What was your idea for a room?

The creature calmed slightly when Caedon spoke to it. Theseus knelt down and held out his hand. Caedon was content to let him take the lead on taming the wolf—for he saw that it was not a dog after all. “Shhh. It’s okay girl,” Theseus whispered. “Don’t worry, we’re friends. What should we call you?”
“You can call me Runawin,” she replied simply.
Caedon’s eyes rounded. The wolf could speak, but her fur wasn’t white. How was that possible?
Behind them, Lucas and Vladlena brandished their blades. Theseus whirled around and drew his own sword, placing himself between Runawin and the two. “Wait! Don’t hurt her! I am placing her under my protection! If you want to hurt her, you have to go through me first!”
Caedon clenched his fists. “The same goes for me!”
Lucas lowered his dagger, but still stared at Runawin with suspicion. He looked ready to jump into action if the wolf became a threat. Caedon did not think she was one, but he still respected Lucas’ judgment. Vladlena also lowered her sword, though her eyes flashed with white fire.
Theseus turned to Runawin, who had bared her teeth. “It’s okay. Caedon and I will protect you. Those two over there are Lucas and Vladlena. My name is Theseus. Do you know how you got here? When we discovered you we were just preparing to start trying to find a way out.”
Runawin relaxed a little. “I just woke up and found myself in this strange place. Do any of you know where we are?”
Caedon shook his head. “Sadly, no. We are all just as lost as you are.”
“I had a similar situation,” Theseus said. “I too woke and found myself in this place. I am worried that my friends may have come through as well and are in other parts of the castle. I vote that we begin exploring. There were many other doors in the hall, let’s go see where they lead.”
Everyone agreed to this.
“We probably shouldn’t split up,” Caedon added. Bad things happened when a group of people separated. There was safety in numbers—especially if there were other people lurking in the halls. Theseus’ friends would not recognize Caedon or the others and might attack like Theseus had done.
