LOTR

• SOMEONE GIVE FARAMIR A HUG.
• I would follow Aragorn to the ends of the earth seriously he is so awesome.
• I was watching Return of the King with a friend for English class and we were taking notes. I was going over hers later and one line just said, “Pippen no!!!”. A couple of lines later, “PIPPEN NO!” Fool of a Took.
• I love LOTR, but I only recently been examining the themes of it – it takes small people with no special powers or fighting skills to make a difference. A good heart is the most important thing – and I’m just like “These things have been here the whole time? Why haven’t I seen this before?!?!”

NARNIA

• ASLAN!!!!
• The Silver Chair is so creepy. My ten-year-old self was scared. Also my 18-year-old self.
• Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe is such a beautiful picture of the Gospel. Sometimes you hear it so many times it loses meaning, but Aslan’s death really reminded me that <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>He died for the undeserving</span>.
• ASLAN!!!
• Reepicheep in Voyage: “Hey let’s sail into this foreboding cloud of darkness.” THIS IS HOW PEOPLE ARE NEVER HEARD FROM AGAIN REEPICHEEP.
• In Silver Chair: “Wow, I’m so glad we barely survived the underground lair of the super evil creepy witch. Now let’s go down this dangerous-looking tunnel for kicks. That’s what Reepicheep would do.” Reepicheep: Influencing his friends to make bad decisions from beyond the grave.
• ASLAN!!!
• I love how C.S. Lewis (and Tolkien, to a lesser extent) makes death seem so not-scary. Because it’s not. We are Christians, death is the best thing that will happen to us in this life. It’s stepping from the shadow into the light.  When all other media is like “Oh no! Death! To be avoided at all costs!” is important to be reminded that death has no sting.

• Just the narrative voice, “‘It isn’t Her!’ (said Mr Beaver.) Which isn’t very proper grammar, but that is how beavers talk when they are excited. On Narnia, of course. Beavers don’t talk in our world.”
