@cassandraia That sounds like a cool creature! Is that one you’ve made up? Mmm, I really like the underlying themes that deals with. Being torn between families and places is difficult.
Wow! That’s a great way to think about it. I never thought about the characters’ stories never being finished and only uncovering bits and pieces of it. I love the way you worded that! I think I’m a lot like you in that I have this itch to see things completed, even if they’re not great. I still want to know that I finished my part. Then I can worry about making it worth reading afterwards XD
Yeah, I’ve heard that one before. It’s really difficult to remember sometimes, but it is something I remind myself of often. Criticism isn’t a reflection on me, only my work. They aren’t attacking me, only my work. XD It still hurts, but it puts things into perspective for sure. I think the only way to grow is through constructive criticism and reader’s feedback. You can’t fix something you don’t know is broken. So, I guess I just try to remember that negative feedback is an opportunity to grow. Obviously, sometimes there are just plain old haters out there, but even then, I feel like that is an opportunity for me to grow as a person. If nothing else, I get insight into the minds of my readers to see how my writing comes across to them. Even if they don’t like it, I at least know if the words came across the way I intended or not.
