@steward-of-the-pen Good to see you too!
I’ve been brainstorming a new WIP that’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi. The change in genre has been a fun break, so I’m going to keep at it for a bit before diving back into Dahop’s Ember.
Cool! I have had a couple ideas for post-apocalyptic stories, but they never went anywhere. Fantasy is my primary genre. Hey, I wonder what post-apocalyptic fantasy would look like. Dark fantasy? 😛
As for the Young Writer Workshop, no I am not on there. I haven’t even heard of it. What is it?
Yeah so I finished the first-and-a-half draft of my short story, which is awesome. And I’m about to start another one, for language arts. We’ll see how it goes.
Very nice! Short stories are fun. I can never write one without it turning into a full-length novel, though. xD
Thank you for asking! I can’t think of anything for myself right this second, but as December comes closer, more prayers for all my family would be appreciated.
Sure thing! 😉
@evelyn Thanks!
Still plugging away at 51, but its picking up speed and the end (of the first draft) is in sight! Oh my goodness I have had so much fun with this thing. Experimentation with first person POV and these characters and scenes and all the plotting and flying by the seat of my pants and everything… *sighs* it just makes me so happy.
That’s exciting! I love writing in first person POV. Two of my favorite stories came from it.
Are you guys planning to do NaNoWriMo this year? Last year was so much fun!
I don’t think I’ll be able to do NaNoWriMo. Writing another 50K is something I’ll save for next summer. 😛
Is there anything I can pray about for you?
Hm. Just that I wouldn’t feel excluded in school, I guess. You see, I’m not like my fellow students. They all have phones and cars and jobs and reside in a sphere entirely different from my own.
As for how school is going…phew. First off, thank you guys so much for asking that. It’s midway through the first quarter and I think reality is finally hitting me. I have a political ad due on Friday and political paper due in a few weeks. I am fond of my teachers, especially my English teacher, and I have two student aid jobs.
One last thing. I’m introverted. Not socially awkward, mind you, but I’m definitely not extroverted. I’m having trouble really getting to know my classmates. Even when I “extrovert” to the best of my ability, it doesn’t seem to do anything. I’m just wondering if I’m doing something wrong. It might be because of the difference in our upbringings, or just the environment of the school and the weight of peer pressure that I rarely felt before now. I’m praying that I won’t give in to that pressure. (As a side note, two of my classmates are former homeschoolers, so I’m not completely alone. They seem to have been assimilated into the culture of the school, though.)
Despite these little “hiccups,” school is actually going very well. Again, thank you all for asking about it. <3
